Week 14

The week somehow was the longest week of my life but so fast??? 
We did a ton of walking this week! I think on Saturday we walked almost 7 miles. But it was a great week! We taught lots of lessons, and it definitely paid off! We had 20 of our friends come to church and 9 recent converts! When I saw each of them walk in the chapel my heart was so full of joy!!!! 


On Tuesday we had family home evening with Pedro Peña and his family! They are the BEST family ever and it was so fun! They fed us yaroa (it's like nachos kinda but fries with chicken and cheese) and then we watched a video about the three nephites, I think?? I'm not 100% sure because it was in spanish hahaha!!! 


We had a family history ward activity on Thursday, and our recent convert friend, Roodlee came! It was so great!!! 


Roodlee has started bringing his friends to church every week and they all want to be baptized, so we started to teach them and they are sooo smart and I love them with my whole heart!!!

I've been studying charity this week


Charity is the pure love of Christ. It is patiently withstanding troubles and pain, having a tender, considerate, and helpful nature, to not be jealous, to not brag, to not be full of pride, to not be easily angered, to not find happiness in evil things, charity is putting up with all things, believing all things, hoping all things and facing all things and challenges with courage. 


When I read this list, to me it truly describes Christ. 
My companion said something interesting to me. "We can't develop Christlike attributes without prayer"
Charity and love go hand and hand, but charity is deeper. We may have love for many people and things, but we can't develop charity without prayer and faith. 


I've learned in this whole list of things, I have a lot to work on and that's okay! I know with the help of my Heavenly Father, I can devolp charity and become more like Jesus Christ.

Heyyy!!! Im loving life here in the DR! SO MUCH FUN!!!! this week was crazyyy!!!  This week we had exchanges! On Friday morning the Hermana leaders came to our apartment and picked me up and I said bye to my companion for 24 hours! The hermana leaders are a threesome so it was me, Hermana Dominguez, and Hermana Torrez. We headed to their apartment in a different area of Santiago but it was only about 20 minutes from my area. We had lunch (Hermana Torrez can COOK!!!) we did companion study, then headed out for the day! Their area was popey (rich) haha! It was beautiful, flowers everywhere!! But the people weren't as friendly. But we got ice cream from BON for dinner and it was good but not as good as my mom and grandpa's homemade ice cream!! The next day I headed back home and I missed my companion! I love my area so much and my comp so much!  We have been speaking only Spanish in the streets and I think it's been helping me a ton! Hola hola cómo están? Hey hey how's everyone doing? I hope you are all doing so so good and I just want you to all know I miss you so much! This week was so speedy!  And not anything really special happened. It definitely was a little bit of a harder week but with God anythings possible. But I saw a few wonderful miracles. Uur friend Jenny. She told us she wanted to go to church but she only had money to get to church, not to get back home. But she took a step of faith and God worked out the rest of the details like He always does.  We had zone conference and it was so so good. The thing that stuck most with me was becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ, not just a missionary. We also talked about keeping the end in mind as missionaries and our goal as missionaries is to baptize people who are converted to Jesus Christ. It was a really good conference. Week 9

HEY EVERYONE!!!! Hows everyone doing?? On December 12th I got to the DR! It was a long day of travel but we made it! We flew from Mexico to Florida then from Florida to the DR! We got on our second flight to Santiago and the plane was full of natives. I tried to talk to this cute old man sitting next to me but I swear he wasn't speaking Spanish hahaha. That's when I knew I was in for a wild ride.  We got to Santiago and went to President Bretóns house! We spent the night there and in the morning they had a Dominican breakfast ready for us! It was really good! Then we headed to the mission office and had orientation. Then we got to meet our companions! My comp is so awesome! Her name is Hermana Lowry! She's been out in the field for almost 16 months! She's an incredible missionary and I love her!! We headed to our area and I'm in Bella Vista!  The people here are so awesome!  We mostly teach kids and women! The kids absolutely love to hear the gospel!  Since I'm ...
