Week 12
This week, my comp and I got the gripe. We had fevers so we weren't allowed to go out and teach our friends:,( but we were able to do lots of phone lessons, so that was good!!!! So this week went by REALLY slow since we were in our apartment most of the time.
By Friday I was feeling back to normal, but my poor comp, she was still feeling horrible, but we went out and taught anyways. We went and taught THE CUTEST family:))) Kelvin, Angela, and Emma! They are the best!!!! After our lesson with them, we were heading home, and it's about a 30 minute walk, and it started POURING! and don't get me wrong I LOVE the rain, buttt not so much when you are walking on dirt roads. But Kelvin and Angela insisted on driving us home! That was a blessing and I love them with my whole heart!!!
Then it was SATURDAYYY, ROSAS BAPTISM!!!!!! Everything was so perfect!!! We had her baptism at 6, and before her baptism we were out teaching our friends, and we headed over to the church at around 5:45. It again started POURING!! Everyone here is terrified of the rain, and when it rains people like go into hibernation and think if you leave your house you will get sick and die. So we were a little worried Rosa was going to cancel, same with everyone we asked to speak for the baptism. We got to the church and only the Elders were there. So we call Rosa and she doesn't answer and we have a mini heart attack, but then 1 minute later she walks in the church SOAKING wet with her 3 year old daughter Ashley. Rosa was determined to be baptized, nothing was going to stop her. Everyone we asked to speak, didn't end up coming, but a few members came and it was such a special baptism:)))
Then it was Sunday and Oliver and Rosa were confirmed:) such a happy good moment!!!!
Sunday night, we went to Franklins house for dinner with the elders like always. Franklin's house is like my favorite place here in the Dominican Republic. His house just feels like home. But he fed us so much I thought I was going to die. but THEN... WE HAD ANOTHER DINNER SCHEDULED! So we headed over there with the Elders and she gave us a HUGE hotdog and after we finished, she brought out ANOTHER ONE, even bigger than the first, we left to go home, and I felt like a rolley polley.
It was a great week:))
And all of you, HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!!! AND EMAIL ME!!! I LOVE TO READ YOUR EMAILS, even though I can't respond:))))
spiritual:))
This week I was studying a little bit about the Atonement of Jesus Christ and its blows my mind that He, alone, was able to atone for the sins of ALL mankind. I can't imagine how hard that was for Him, to do that all alone. Also, He was the only one who could have Atoned for the sins of all mankind. He bled from every pore in His body, and begged Heavenly Father to ease His burdens. The natural man would have died, but Jesus Christ was able to, because He is the literal Son of God.
