Week 15
I hit three months this week! I can't believe it! I feel like I was set apart yesterday! Time really does fly by when you're having fun doing the Lord's work!
Wednesday was an interesting day!
There was a leadership meeting and since we live close to the mission office we went to pick up a Hermana who's comp had to go to the leadership meeting, so we got to be in a trio for the day! it was way fun!
Since our schedule was wayyy off from all the picking up and dropping off we didn't teach very many lessons, but we had a lesson scheduled with our friend Diamante Azul (coolest nickname ever) and we were going to teach him with the Elders we share an area with. So we met up with the Elders and we were at Diamante Azul's house but he texted us and said he was at him grandma's house, so he sent us his location and it was a longgg walk, but my comp said she knew a short cut, so long story short, we jumped a fence and went bush wacking for 30 minutes until we were on a road in the middle of nowhere with no houses, but the map said we were at his location. So we call Diamante Azul and he has no idea where we are so he said we can just do the lesson on Sunday. So there we are, five gringos standing in the middle of a dark street, no idea where we are. So we call our homie Franklin and he came and found us and we went back to his house and shared a lesson with him and his boys! haha it was a very interesting night!!!
On Saturday we had a member meal with this couple and they both served English speaking missions, so they were fluent in english and wanted to speak with us in english. It was so great to be able to talk with them and understand them!
We were walking in the street past a colmado and they were playing "let her go" in english instead of colmado music, so that was awesome and the highlight of my Thursday!
OH MY GOSH ON SUNDAY..... we got to church and the first counselor walks up to me and asks me my name and then tells me I'm saying the closing prayer! It's scary to say the closing prayer in sacrement meeting in english, but in spanish... it's a different kind of fear! I knew what I was going to say when I got up there, but as soon as I started praying, suddenly everything decided to leave my mind ahh yeah so that happend hahaha but it's all good! Learning at getting better each day right:,)
spiritual
It was fast Sunday this week! Our friend Berny, he's a 19 year old boy who wants to learn but he doesn't keep commitments, ever. Everytime we give him a chapter in the Book of Mormon to read he promises us he will read it but he never does, he always promises to come to church but he never does. We told him if he won't start keeping commitments we have to stop teaching him. We went to see him yesterday and HE READ 3 NEPHI 11 and told us what he thought about it!!! That was such a miracle and I am so happy for him!!!!
