Week 18

SHOUT OUT TO TALON!!!!!! Everyone go wish him a happy birthday yesterday!!!! I love you bud 


This week was a super fun week and it absolutely flew by!!! I can't believe we are already on the last week of this transfer!!! 


We had exchanges this week! I stayed in Bella Vista and led the area! I had Hermana Cazier as my companion for a day! It was way fun! Since Hermana Lowry goes home next week, (I'm gonna miss her so much!!) I am going to get a new comp and lead the area, so that exchange really helped me realize that I know my way around Bella Vista hahaha! Hermana Cazier and I just worked and worked hard! So at the end of the day we got Bon!! hahaha 


On Thursday we had Juan Carlos and Juan Javiers baptism!!!! It was so special having them be baptized together! They are the cutest brothers EVER!!! They showed up early with their aunt and their mom!!! it was a miracle their mom came, we visited her on Wednesday and she told us she wouldn't be able to make it to their baptism, but she made it work and her boys were so happy she was there!!! We had TONS of member support so that was awesome!!! It was such a great service!!!


On Friday around 3am I woke up freeeeezing, I felt like I was in Utah (that would be the worst) but then at 5am I woke up absolutely sweating, our alarm went off at 6:30 and I got up and yikes, I didn't feel good. I had a pretty high fever but Hermana Lowry made me homemade chicken noodle soup and tea and by 4 i was ready to work again!!! She's the best comp ever! What am I going to do without her!! :((


On Saturday our ward went to the temple and they all parked their cars at the church, so we went to the church and wrote cute notes on all their cars, so funnnn


On Sunday, BEST DAY EVER!!! 
Juan Carlos and Juan Javier showed up to church 15 minutes early, and they were confirmed!!! But when they were walking back from the stand to their chairs after they were confirmed, their smiles were SO big! They were both GLOWING and just had a different light about them, it was such a happy day!!!!

I read this scripture I really liked to Hermana Lowry in 2 Nephi 9:39, it says 
"remember to be carnally-minded is death and to be spiritually-minded is life eternal"
and she said look at the "Spiritually Minded Is Life Eternal" part... SMILE!!! 
i LOVED that!!! Keeping our eyes on things that really matter, like Jesus Christ and His perfect gospel is what life is all about!!! If we do this we will have everlasting happiness and always be smiling:)))


We have a baptism for our friends Berny and Misael this week, so keep them in your prayers!!!!

Heyyy!!! Im loving life here in the DR! SO MUCH FUN!!!! this week was crazyyy!!!  This week we had exchanges! On Friday morning the Hermana leaders came to our apartment and picked me up and I said bye to my companion for 24 hours! The hermana leaders are a threesome so it was me, Hermana Dominguez, and Hermana Torrez. We headed to their apartment in a different area of Santiago but it was only about 20 minutes from my area. We had lunch (Hermana Torrez can COOK!!!) we did companion study, then headed out for the day! Their area was popey (rich) haha! It was beautiful, flowers everywhere!! But the people weren't as friendly. But we got ice cream from BON for dinner and it was good but not as good as my mom and grandpa's homemade ice cream!! The next day I headed back home and I missed my companion! I love my area so much and my comp so much!  We have been speaking only Spanish in the streets and I think it's been helping me a ton! Hola hola cómo están? Hey hey how's everyone doing? I hope you are all doing so so good and I just want you to all know I miss you so much! This week was so speedy!  And not anything really special happened. It definitely was a little bit of a harder week but with God anythings possible. But I saw a few wonderful miracles. Uur friend Jenny. She told us she wanted to go to church but she only had money to get to church, not to get back home. But she took a step of faith and God worked out the rest of the details like He always does.  We had zone conference and it was so so good. The thing that stuck most with me was becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ, not just a missionary. We also talked about keeping the end in mind as missionaries and our goal as missionaries is to baptize people who are converted to Jesus Christ. It was a really good conference. Week 9

HEY EVERYONE!!!! Hows everyone doing?? On December 12th I got to the DR! It was a long day of travel but we made it! We flew from Mexico to Florida then from Florida to the DR! We got on our second flight to Santiago and the plane was full of natives. I tried to talk to this cute old man sitting next to me but I swear he wasn't speaking Spanish hahaha. That's when I knew I was in for a wild ride.  We got to Santiago and went to President Bretóns house! We spent the night there and in the morning they had a Dominican breakfast ready for us! It was really good! Then we headed to the mission office and had orientation. Then we got to meet our companions! My comp is so awesome! Her name is Hermana Lowry! She's been out in the field for almost 16 months! She's an incredible missionary and I love her!! We headed to our area and I'm in Bella Vista!  The people here are so awesome!  We mostly teach kids and women! The kids absolutely love to hear the gospel!  Since I'm ...
