Week 19

HOLA!!!! Such a goooood week!!!!
This week was a week of celebration!!!
It was both mine and Hermana Lowrys birthdays and the members were SO good to us!!! They threw us four birthday parties, the members in this ward are so awesome and really make sure you feel loved! 


On Tuesday, i'm officially out of training! We got our transfer news last night! I get to stay in Bella Vista for another 6 weeks and I couldn't be happier! I LOVE IT SO MUCH HERE!!! Hermana Heggie will be my new companion and I'm so excited to get to know her and work hard with her!!! 


I saw so many miracles this week!!!


1. It was fast Sunday this week. 
Our friend Paul, he was on date to get baptized on the 4th. We stopped by his house like a week ago and his family told us that he was deported back to Haiti and he left his phone with his family so we had no way of contacting him and had no idea when he was coming back. But this fast Sunday we fasted for Paul that he would come back, a few hours after we started our fast we got a text from Paul saying he is back!!!! WAHOO! So excited to teach him again!!!


2. Our friend Milton. He's been meeting with missionaries forever. The missionaries promised him that if he read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it, he would know it was true. He did as they told him, but he never received a strong answer. Ever since then Milton doesn't really care and refuses to pray and won't read scriptures when we share with him and his friends. This fast Sunday we also fasted for Milton that he would be able to feel Gods love for him. Last night when we shared with them, he read out of the Book of Mormon and he said the closing prayer!!!!!!!! WAHOO!!!!


3. OUR FRIEND BERNY WAS BAPTIZED!!!! WAHOO!! Berny has been taught by the missionaries for a whole year now. He would never keep commitments. The last week of January my companion and I made the decision to drop Berny because he wouldn't keep commitments and wasn't progressing. We had developed such a love for him and saw he had potential but he just wasn't progressing. On fast Sunday in February, we fasted for him, that he would keep just one commitment. We ran into him in the street that Sunday night and he told us he read in the Book of Mormon and he explained to us what he read in 3rd nephi 11!! Ever since that night he has read the Book of Mormon every day and come to church every week and I have seen him change.  His heart changed and he is physically glowing. Well this Sunday Berny was baptized! He came out of the water literally glowing. I'm so proud of him and he is such an example to me. 


I have a strong testimony in fasting. I know that when we fast and pray with faith, we will receive answered to our prayers and see miracles.

Heyyy!!! Im loving life here in the DR! SO MUCH FUN!!!! this week was crazyyy!!!  This week we had exchanges! On Friday morning the Hermana leaders came to our apartment and picked me up and I said bye to my companion for 24 hours! The hermana leaders are a threesome so it was me, Hermana Dominguez, and Hermana Torrez. We headed to their apartment in a different area of Santiago but it was only about 20 minutes from my area. We had lunch (Hermana Torrez can COOK!!!) we did companion study, then headed out for the day! Their area was popey (rich) haha! It was beautiful, flowers everywhere!! But the people weren't as friendly. But we got ice cream from BON for dinner and it was good but not as good as my mom and grandpa's homemade ice cream!! The next day I headed back home and I missed my companion! I love my area so much and my comp so much!  We have been speaking only Spanish in the streets and I think it's been helping me a ton! Hola hola cómo están? Hey hey how's everyone doing? I hope you are all doing so so good and I just want you to all know I miss you so much! This week was so speedy!  And not anything really special happened. It definitely was a little bit of a harder week but with God anythings possible. But I saw a few wonderful miracles. Uur friend Jenny. She told us she wanted to go to church but she only had money to get to church, not to get back home. But she took a step of faith and God worked out the rest of the details like He always does.  We had zone conference and it was so so good. The thing that stuck most with me was becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ, not just a missionary. We also talked about keeping the end in mind as missionaries and our goal as missionaries is to baptize people who are converted to Jesus Christ. It was a really good conference. Week 9

HEY EVERYONE!!!! Hows everyone doing?? On December 12th I got to the DR! It was a long day of travel but we made it! We flew from Mexico to Florida then from Florida to the DR! We got on our second flight to Santiago and the plane was full of natives. I tried to talk to this cute old man sitting next to me but I swear he wasn't speaking Spanish hahaha. That's when I knew I was in for a wild ride.  We got to Santiago and went to President Bretóns house! We spent the night there and in the morning they had a Dominican breakfast ready for us! It was really good! Then we headed to the mission office and had orientation. Then we got to meet our companions! My comp is so awesome! Her name is Hermana Lowry! She's been out in the field for almost 16 months! She's an incredible missionary and I love her!! We headed to our area and I'm in Bella Vista!  The people here are so awesome!  We mostly teach kids and women! The kids absolutely love to hear the gospel!  Since I'm ...
