Week 22

klk a todos! 
I hope you are all doing SO well and I hope you all had an amazing week!!


Fun things from this week 


1. We went to the temple!
On Thursday morning we woke up bright and early at 4am and headed to the temple for the day! The temple here is BEAUTIFUL! It's kind of pinkish and I love it! The inside was even more beautiful! Since I'm in the DR it was all in spanish, so I thought I wouldn't understand anything, but I actually understood more than I thought I would! It was really cool! 
It was so much fun getting to see everyone! I made lots of new friends and I love all the missionaries here soooo much! They are all so cool and so funny! 


2. We went into our colmado to buy some bananas and the worker was a little boy, we asked how old he was and he said 7.  We asked if he worked there and he told us he's the owner haha, we asked how much for 1 banana and he told us 15 pesos (usually it's 2 bananas for 15 pesos). We were like "hmm" so we talked to him for a while and waited till his dad got back and this little boy was trying to rip us off lol but now he's our new bestie!!!


3. We met the coolest couple, and after the first lesson they asked how they can join our church!!! The spirit was so strong during that lesson, it was SO cool!!! 


4. One of our recent converts hasn't been coming to church, and his friends haven't either. We have talked to them about the importance of chuch but they just don't seem to listen. So we talked to the elders we share an area with and last night we decided to have a lesson together, and the elders taught with so much power and authority, it was insane. At the end of the lesson you could tell that these boys wouldn't skip church again. You could tell the words and scriptures cut them deep! I've never felt the spirit so strong in a lesson, it was really awesome to see the spirit speak to them! 


5. We were at a members house, Franklin my bestie, and we were talking to him and he explain the scripture that converted him but he didn't know where it was in the Book of Mormon. He explain it and my comp and I both immediately knew. 3 Nephi 11: 3-11 
It's about when Jesus came to the Americas after his resurrección. The people didn't recognize the voice of the spirit because they weren't listening but once they listened to the still small voice, it struck them deep in their soul but it was still a soft voice. 
Franklin was SO happy to know where this scripture was, he was beaming and I'm so glad we could help him!


6. I had another exchange with Hermana Streadbeck this week, we had lots of fun!

6 we took a picture by this wall and there were some guys watching us then they started laughing haha so i decided me and my little compy, Hermana streadbeck were going to contact them, they were so cool and im glad we took this picture cause those guys were SO cool
7 a crazy lady knocked this fruits off a tree for us and it was bussin and PINK! how cute??

Heyyy!!! Im loving life here in the DR! SO MUCH FUN!!!! this week was crazyyy!!!  This week we had exchanges! On Friday morning the Hermana leaders came to our apartment and picked me up and I said bye to my companion for 24 hours! The hermana leaders are a threesome so it was me, Hermana Dominguez, and Hermana Torrez. We headed to their apartment in a different area of Santiago but it was only about 20 minutes from my area. We had lunch (Hermana Torrez can COOK!!!) we did companion study, then headed out for the day! Their area was popey (rich) haha! It was beautiful, flowers everywhere!! But the people weren't as friendly. But we got ice cream from BON for dinner and it was good but not as good as my mom and grandpa's homemade ice cream!! The next day I headed back home and I missed my companion! I love my area so much and my comp so much!  We have been speaking only Spanish in the streets and I think it's been helping me a ton! Hola hola cómo están? Hey hey how's everyone doing? I hope you are all doing so so good and I just want you to all know I miss you so much! This week was so speedy!  And not anything really special happened. It definitely was a little bit of a harder week but with God anythings possible. But I saw a few wonderful miracles. Uur friend Jenny. She told us she wanted to go to church but she only had money to get to church, not to get back home. But she took a step of faith and God worked out the rest of the details like He always does.  We had zone conference and it was so so good. The thing that stuck most with me was becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ, not just a missionary. We also talked about keeping the end in mind as missionaries and our goal as missionaries is to baptize people who are converted to Jesus Christ. It was a really good conference. Week 9

HEY EVERYONE!!!! Hows everyone doing?? On December 12th I got to the DR! It was a long day of travel but we made it! We flew from Mexico to Florida then from Florida to the DR! We got on our second flight to Santiago and the plane was full of natives. I tried to talk to this cute old man sitting next to me but I swear he wasn't speaking Spanish hahaha. That's when I knew I was in for a wild ride.  We got to Santiago and went to President Bretóns house! We spent the night there and in the morning they had a Dominican breakfast ready for us! It was really good! Then we headed to the mission office and had orientation. Then we got to meet our companions! My comp is so awesome! Her name is Hermana Lowry! She's been out in the field for almost 16 months! She's an incredible missionary and I love her!! We headed to our area and I'm in Bella Vista!  The people here are so awesome!  We mostly teach kids and women! The kids absolutely love to hear the gospel!  Since I'm ...
