Week 20
Holaaa! What's up?!
This week was so much fun! We had transfers and it was so so so sad and hard to say bye to my bestie, Hermana Lowry, but I got a new best friend, Hermana Heggie! She's wayyy cool and she's from Canada!
I feel like I'm learning and understanding SO much spanish every single day! It's so much fun not to be in the dark all the time! I love it!
This past week, I feel like I have learned to love this country even more than I did before, IT'S SO COOL HERE! THE PEOPLE ARE SO COOL HERE! I LOVE IT HERE! Every day is so fun and so exciting and so new and so different and I see God's hand so much every day! By the end of the day I'm exhausted but I just want to go talk to people, it's so fun!!
MIRACLE I SAW!
Our friend Paul, we had been teaching him consistantly and he was progressing and we put him on date, then he wouldn't answer our texts and he wasn't ever home. We talked to his wife, but she doesn't speak much spanish but we understood that he was deported back to Haiti:( we kept stopping by his house for several weeks but he was never there. He texted us last week and he told us he was back in the DR but he's so bad at answering his phone so we could never coordinate a time to teach him UNTIL Saturday, we were talking to some friends and I look to my left and I was like "oh my gosh that's Paul!!!!!!!" So we went and talked to him and he told us we could teach him that night and that he would come to church on Sunday! wahooo!
During our lesson he asked "why do so many bad things happen to me, I dont even have money to buy food for my family" that broke my heart. On Sunday morning we went to go get some friends to go to church and on our way took Paul and his family some food and when we saw him he was all ready for church!!
We hopefully will have a baptism for him and his daughter next weekend! Keep Paul and his family in your prayers!
Our friend Rosa
Rosa's a recent convert but since she was confirmed she hadn't come to church and she won't meet with us, and when we go to her house, she won't open the door. We fasted for her and we asked Presidente what to do and he told us to just be her friend. We went to her house on Wednesday and she was so welcoming! She told us she's reading in her Book of Mormon everyday still and praying everyday! That was so good to hear! This next week we are going over to help her clean and for lunch!
Everyone keep Rosa in your prayers as well!
