Week 26
Hola a todos!!! Espero que estén bien!! Les extraño muchísimo!!!
We had transfers and im in Puerto Plata in Playa Oeste, it's seriously so hot here, I'm basically always sweating and my skin is always sticky but that's the mission, right?? I'm with hermana Olmos! I think in my email last week I definitely had the wrong name and I'm not gonna lie, it took me about a week to remember her name hahaha! But she's from Mexico and is a chef and loves to cook so that's been so fun! She's really kind and I'm happy we are comps! I'm learning lots :)
On Saturday literally all our lessons fell through, like we only had one, and everyone was rejecting us. I felt like I was just walking around this foreign country wasting my time, but then we walked past a colmado and they were playing the song "and every little thing, is gonna be alright" and right at that moment I knew God loved me and knew me and knew exactly what I needed at that moment.
I feel like my spanish is getting so much better, since my comp doesn't speak really any english we only speak spanish! It's been quite the adjustment but hey we can communicate so thats awesome! Sometimes we are having a conversation and I think to myself "hey wait I'm speaking in spanish" kinda fun! But the people here really know how to humble you fast, on Wednesday we were in a lesson with these two old men and one of them, when we were leaving, said to me "you should really learn spanish" sooo ya haha kinda humbled me very fast.
I'm serving in the area where there are voluntary teachers here who are about 19 and they are all from Utah who teach English to all the little kids. Everytime I turn around a kid is grabbing onto my dress calling me teacher, so call me teacher I guess.
On Sunday we sang in sacrement meeting. I had no idea until we were sitting in the chapel!! So that was great, you guys all know I love to sing and I'm a great singer! I hope the members still like me after that experience.
Spiritual
I was studying patience and I read in Alma 26: 27
Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success.
This was literally me this week! I was sad because we were having no sucess, and I didnt know what to do, I wanted to give up, but the Lord puts little miracles in our paths every day and in every moment to keep us going. We just need to open our eyes because there is a miracle in everything, in every moment!!
I hope you all have the best week of your entire life and keep grinding!!
I love and miss you all, keep me updated and remember to put God first
