Week 28

HEYY EVERYONE!!!
How's it goinnnn, I hope you are all living it upppp!!!

Some highlights from my week

Our friend Arolson was baptized!! He's the coolest 17 year old ever. He's Haitian and doesn't speak much Spanish and doesn't understand much, we always have a translator when we teach him so he can fully understand the material. It's really cool to teach through a translator, you can really feel the gift of tongues and the spirit so stong, it's so cool.
Before his baptism we had to fill out his baptism form and when my comp tried to explain to him what we were doing he couldn't understand her, because her native language is spanish, but when I said it he understood.Neither of us speak very good Spanish but we could communicate, it was SO cool to see God working through me.
His baptism was great, we tried to teach him all week to prepare him for his interview on Friday, but we couldn't find him all week, Friday morning we went looking for him and the biggest miracle happened. We were yelling at his door for about 10 minutes and we were just about to go home and I said a prayer in my heart and he opened the door. Such a miracle, but trying to find him for his interview on Friday night is a whole different story, but after many prayers and miracles, we found him and he was baptized. It was beautiful and the spirit was so strong. The elder that baptized him, Elder Burrows, he spoke with such power and it was so spiritual. He came out of the water smiling so big.

On Tuesday we went to teach our friend Natasha and she was doing laundry, so we helped her and it was in the sun, hand washing clothes for 40 minutes, and when we left I'm not even joking, drenched in sweat, my hair looked like I just got out of the shower, but it's all good right? It's the Lords work!

I got to call home on Wednesday because it was my beautiful moms birthday, everyone go tell the queen happy birthday, she's my queen. Before my mission, I was always with my mom, like always, and being apart from her for the past 6 months has been the hardest thing ever, but I know it will be so rewarding, that hug in 1 year is going to be so incredible. I didn't think I could possibly love my mom anymore but the mission has grown my love for my mom x100000000000!!! She's so amazing and I could actually talk about her for the rest of my life, so I'll stop here but it was the best hour of my life getting to talk to her. Everyone go wish her a happy birthday!!!!! I love you mom!I!

At home grocery shopping was my favorite activity, and it still is here, but in Puerto Plata it's even better!!! When we go shopping we get to see the ocean, it's so beautiful and is peaceful, it's a temptation, i just want to jump in!

At the grocery store today, there were lots of tourists and this man came up to me and started to talk to me about church stuff and holy crap, I can't do it in English, it was so hard hahshshah but I met a cool man from Canada, Paul. But now I know why I'm serving in spanish, cause the Lord knew i couldn't do it in English! But I got that contact in

In this country, I swear the children don't wear clothes, I have seen more naked children this week than I think anyone has ever seen. It's gotta be a world record or something!!!

On Sunday it was a complete rainstorm and my compy wanted to call a taxi to come pick us up and take us home, but I insisted we walk the full 40 minute walk home in the dumping rain. It was good for us, we laughed, we sang, we bonded. Rainstorms in this country are something else, my favorite actually. When you are in someone's house and it's raining it sounds like bowling balls falling from the sky, or maybe it's just the mangos that are falling from everyone's tree??

Also this week I had 3 men give me a free mango, so that was fun, it's mango season everyone!!!!

We have zone conference this week and I'm so stinking excited to see all my cute missionary friends!!!!

Spiritual thought
Okay short but sweet, in my personal study I was thinking, Jesus probably didn't want to die and leave his friends and family on earth, but he did it because it's what Heavenly Father wanted, and it helped open my eyes that sometimes I might want to go home or not do something, but Jesus did something way harder and it's something I can rely on always, I can always rely on Jesus and his example of obedience and willingness. I love Jesus.

EVERYBODY, I LOVE YOU SO STINKING MUCH AND I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE THE BEST WEEK EVERRRR!!!
