Week 36

Heyy whats upp everyone!
I hope you are all doing so good, I miss you all like crazy

I feel like every facebook post I see someone just got their mission call, they got engaged, got married, or had a kid. So if any of those apply to you, congratulations!!
hahaha

But another week in the mission down, just living life over here in the DR.
Update on the heat, its not as hot in Villa Olga as it was in Puerto Plata so that's a biggg win!

This week seriously just flew by, I guess it's true that time flies by when you're having fun!

Let's just start off with our house is broken hahaha our toilet doesn't work and the other hermanas bathroom has a waterfall running from their ceiling.
We've spent a lot of time studying in the stairwell this week while the plumbers were attempting to fix the problems hahaha.
One night I walked into the hall near the hermanas bathroom and I didn't realize we had a pool set up in the hallway! I slipped and not even kidding almost broke my shoulder, but hey I didn't!!
Literally the house was flooded, haha hopefully we get that figured out soon!!

My comp loves ice cream as much as me!
Not sure how that's possible but President really knew we would be the perfect pair.

We had a mission tour this week, a general from the 70 and his wife came and gave us a devotional. They are from Guatemala and they are just so cute! I learned literally so much about how we need to center everything around Christ! Because sometimes we forget about the why, why we have all these commandments, why we should live the gospel, why we should read the scriptures. But the why is Christ. He has provided us commandments to protect us and to guide us because He loves us. He's given us His gospel as a map so we can make it back to our Father in heaven. He has given us scriptures to help us learn about Him and help us to receive personal revelation. And he does it all because He loves us.
But it was such a good conferencia and I'm so excited to apply what I learned and see the differences in our lessons and in our friends!!

We put our cute friend on date this week! Her name is Mariana.
She's been in teaching since about 2021 and has never accepted a baptism date even though many, many missionaries have invited her, but on Wednesday we felt really prompted to invite her to baptism after teaching her the plan of salvation, and she told us she would pray about it. We returned on Friday and she told us that she was praying in her kitchen and God answered her and told her it was the right thing to do.
Such a cool experience! Everyone keep her in your prayers please!!!
She also loves to bake so you already know me and this 65 year old woman and bestest of friends! I love her, but seriously keep her in your prayers, she needs them!

We also have the other cutest old lady friend and she raised all her kids in the church and she reads in the Book of Mormon but she rarely comes to church and she's not able to be baptised until a few things in her life change. We visited her this week and she told us she wants to get baptized and she wants to go to the temple but there are som obstacles in her way but we invited her to church just like we always do and she actually came, I think my joy was through the roof and my smile was the biggest it's ever been when i saw Grismelda walk into the chapel!!!
Everyone keep her in your prayers, she needs them!!!

Spiritual thought
Alma 17
This chapter is about Alma and Amulek. they were missionaries and I liked these few verses.

14 And as many as would hear their words, unto them they did impart the word of God, without any respect of persons, continually.
15 And thus did Alma and Amulek go forth, and also many more who had been chosen for the work, to preach the word throughout all the land. And the establishment of the church became general throughout the land, in all the region round about, among all the people of the Nephites.
16 And there was no inequality among them; the Lord did pour out his Spirit on all the face of the land to prepare the minds of the children of men, or to prepare their hearts to receive the word which should be taught among them at the time of his coming.

I love this scripture because the Lord really does prepare his people to hear his word. As missionaries we are led by the spirit to find the people the Lord has prepared and I can testify that God's timing is perfect and He prepares certain missionaries to find certain people :)

Have the best week everrr.  I love you all so much and email me, I would love to hear from you! And remember to put God first!
