Week 40

Halfway point, hit 9 months today! so so crazy! Where has the time gone, I still feel like I just got here! The mission is so so good and if you read this and you are thinking about a mission, do it. You won't regret it.

this week was so so crazy wow
where do i even start

We had interviews this week and they were so good. I just felt so refreshed after talking to Pres and he answered so many questions it was just so good. But then after my interview with Pres we had interviews with Hermana Bretón and we talked with her for HOURS hahaha like im not even kidding but i just love my President and Hermana Bretón they are so amazing.

On friday at about 11:45am, we got back from the house from teaching some friends, I pull out the phone and we have a text and 3 missed calls from president. My first thought is "yikes what did i do wrong!!" lol and Hermana Díaz and I were so scared to call him back hahaha but we got up the courage, and called pres. he said "Hermana Díaz, you have 15 minutes to pack, the assistants are coming to pick you up right now." LIKE WHAT????
He then explained that Hermana Díaz is getting transfered to another area and i will be getting a new comp! like whatttt???
So we run into the room and Hermana Díaz is chucking all her clothes into her suitcase and I'm emptying her desk and throwing everything in trashbags, but don't even worry she was packed and out of the house in a quick 20 minutes! We didn't really even have time to process it. But then it hit me, I've been in this GIANT area for 2 weeks and I'm going to be leading it, I'm gonna be honest, I don't know where one member lives and not quite sure how to get to our friends houses but hey I'm sure I'll figure it out!  The AP's call us and tell us they are here to pick us up. We walk into the parking lot and there are two trucks and 6 elders, Hermana Díaz gets in one truck and I get into the other and we part our ways, lets just say I'm crushed, I'm gonna miss her so much. But I get in the AP's truck full of elders and I was on my way to Liset on a surprise exchange with hermana Monson! Not gonna lie, being alone with a bunch of elders felt so weird hahaha but I spent the day with Hermana Monson working in Lisey and it was so much fun. We ended the night with bon ice cream and on our walk home her ice cream scoop fell right onto the sidewalk and I was dying it was so funny. But at 9:30 when we got home the AP's called us and said they were on their way to take me back to Villa Olga with my new comp! They pull into the parking lot and I see my cute new comp Hermana Ramirez! All I know about her is that she is from Mexico and loves hugs, wahoooo!!!
Excited for the next 4 weeks with her!!
But apparently there was a huggeeee emergency transfer like half the hermanas got switched!

Our district is hyped. One elder loves to bake so he made a cake for district council and it was bussin.

We painted a school this week and it was so fun.

baptism
On Saturday the hermanas we share a house with had a baptism and it was beautiful. It was a couple and it's just so beautiful to watch people make covenants with God.
Hermana Bretón and Presidente Bretón were at the baptism and after the husband got baptized Hermana Bretón said outloud "más suave" or "be softer" after he went under the water, because the baptizer dunked him hard, it was hilarious. I literally couldn't hold back my giggles.

we got lost
On saturday we left to go teach and we most definitely got lost, so we went up to these very kind men to ask for directions and they could tell we were very lost and they could tell we weren't from the DR and after they gave us directions he said "cuidense, cuidense mucho!!!!" or "take care, take care a lot!!!!" he was really worried for us it was so funny

President told us he wants to go teach some of our recent converts with us this week... in person! it will be so so good for our recent converts but we are so scared hahaha keep us in your prayers

spiritual thought
I had sooo many good personal studies this week! but something I love that I've recently been studying is the 2 great commandments.
Matthew 22:36-39
"Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself"
These two commandments are the foundation. When we love God first and love others as well, everything in our lives will fall into place. This love will effect everything, the way we think, the way we act, the way we use our time, our interests, literally everything. If we put loving God and others first I know that everything will fall into its proper place because when we put God first, everything will always work out!!!

Have a great week everyone, I love you all more than you will ever know and remember to put God first :)
