Week 42
Heyyy another week gone by!!!
The weeks are going by so so fast it's crazy!
Update on visiting all the hermanas in our ward, we got trauma dumped on. I could officially be a therapist, I have lots of experience now and if you need help with anything just send me an email cause I basically have a masters degree!
One of our friends gifted me with a plant!
She walked over to her neighbor'ss yard and yanked a plant out of their yard and gave it to me hahaha
We had a lesson with a member and her husband who isn't a member and they are both doctors. Let's just say they had an elevator that opened up into their apartment. I felt like I was in a penthouse in New York City. It was insane.
On Thursday my comp had interviews with President because we had emergency transfers and she missed the interviews for her old area and this area so President made time for her to have her interview with another zone. We spent a good chunk of Thursday in the offices with Hrmn Bretón and Presidente and the other missionaries. tI was a blast but my favorite part was the senior couple who works in the office. Hrmn Nicols and élder nicols, they are my besties and I'm so excited to hang with them when I get home hahaha
One of the hermanas we visited this week was not very nice to us hahaha not really sure why, we just went to her house and shared a scripture about the two great commandments, love God and love your neighbor. By the time we left my comp was crying hahaha so just some advice, be nice to the missionaries. They are just trying to spread the light of Christ :) but don't worry, as we were walking to our next lesson and comp was crying it turned into a laughing cry hahaha it was super funny
One of the days that we left in the morning, on our way home we wanted to go to the bakery to grab some bread for lunch but we already planned to take a different route home and find some people on that road. We decided to go with the plan that involved God and finding people. Well, God blessed us with a family who seems really interested! What's better, bread or a family?? It's a silly example but these are the kinds of miracles we see every day in the mission. God always has a better plan.
We visited our bestie Mariana adn she gave us hats!!! Because one night we showed up at her house and I was absolutely fried because the sun is so hot. She gave us hats to protect me awe i love her
There was soooo much rain this week, it was so healing and i just love the rain
Someone at church called me rapunzel
We have two recent converts, they are young girls. Diana and Jimita. They were baptized almost a year ago and are completely inactive. When we were emergency transferred I had no idea how to get to their house but I knew it was farrrr away but we finally found them this week. They live in an abandoned house, but they lovingly accepted us into their home and all gathered around us to hear our message. We shared about the baptism covenant they made and how they need to come to church and partake of the sacrament. They shared with us that they want to come back to church. They don't have a phone and we left Saturday night late running to our house having faith they would make it to church the next morning. As we are sitting in the chapel singing the first hymn they walk in with 2 of their siblings who arent baptised. I've never been so happy.
One night our mission correlation leader drove us home from a lesson that we had with them and that man was cracking gospel jokes and I actually thought they were hilarious hahaha
spiritual thought
I noticed that when we are in the streets, when we say hi to people, usually one of us says hi and they people don't respond and then the other comp says hi and they respond!
I noticed it's almost with everyone we greet. It made me think about our Savior. He might reach out to us and we may not hear Him or see Him but He always reaches out a second time. It reminded me of the account in 3rd nephi when Christ showed himself unto the people in the land bountiful. They were speaking one with another about Christ and about the signs of His death and how He was going to come to them and as they were talking one with another.
"they heard a voice as if it came out of heaven; and they cast their eyes round about, for they understood not the voice which they heard; and it was not a harsh voice, neither was it a loud voice; nevertheless, and notwithstanding it being a small voice it did pierce them that did hear to the center, insomuch that there was no part of their frame that it did not cause to quake; yea, it did pierce them to the very soul, and did cause their hearts to burn. And it came to pass that again they heard the voice, and they understood it not. And again the third time they did hear the voice, and did open their ears to hear it; and their eyes were towards the sound thereof; and they did look steadfastly towards heaven, from whence the sound came. And behold, the third time they did understand the voice which they heard" Just like the people of Nephi it may take a few times to hear His voice, to hear His invitation, but He is always inviting and won't ever stop because as it says many times in the scriptures "for all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still."
No matter how many times we mess up in this life Christ is always willing to forgive us and stretch forth His hands of mercy and heal us.
I just want to bear my testimony that I know Christ lives and He loves us.
Have the greatest week everrr and good luck to those starting school, summer went by wayyy too fast, but remember to put oGd first!!
