Week 38

Heyy what is uppp


Guys this week is transfers! On to transfer 7!! how??
The mish is really really flying by, I can't believe it!!!
I look at where I was at the beginning of my mission and it's incredible to see how much I have learned about missionary work, the gospel, and myself! It's such an amazing experience and such a great time to grow!


But anyway this week was a little bonkers with tons of traveling which leaves us with little to no money but hey that's alright because this week was legit!


Highlights of my week


We got to go to the temple!!!!
I'm so grateful we got to go back so soon, I miss going to the temple every week, we are seriously so blessed with where we live. 


On Wednesday we took a road trip to Santiago! We had a sleepover in the house of the hermanas in Gurabo and let's just say it was a full on experience... before bed I got in the shower, and locked the door. Then after I showered I tried opening the door, it was stuck, the lock wouldn't move and neither would the handle... well, I was locked in the bathroom for an hour while the hermanas called the elders of the houses, the assistants, and president to figure out a solution! There were no windows in the bathroom and the hinges were on the wrong side of the door so there was no way to take the door off and there was literally no way to escape, the only solution was to break down the door. It was 10pm when the assistants told us they were on their way over to come break down the door... well, I was just sitting in there chillin when all the sudden the handle breaks, the door swings open and Hermana Martinez is holding the largest butchers knife I've ever seen. Thanks to her she saved me from a lifetime of jokes from the assistants!!! 


But the temple, it was incredible. I can't even describe the peace and love I felt. I could just sit in the temple all day, I can seriously feel Gods love. I'm so excited to go regularly when I get home and I encourage you to all go!!!


On the longgg bus ride to Santo Domingo I made so many friends, it was SO much fun! We all just talked for 5 hours and I'm so grateful for all my homies out here! 


As we were getting off the bus someone said to me "you look like Eve" like haha ok thank you?!


On top of our house lives a group of dogs. One night at about 3am we heard a loud thump outside my window next to the alleyway. Next thing I hear is a cat literally yiping so loud and screaming for like 5 minutes. We are not sure what happened but pretty sure that bad boy was running from the dog gang and fell off our roof and didn't land on its feet like they are supposed to. After about 5 minutes the cat stopped making noise, hopefully it didn't die, keep that cat in your prayers lol.


Our friend Lisbet, she's so cool! 
We visited her the other day and brought her her Book of Mormón and I've never seen anyone more excited! Filled my heart


This is the last week of this transfer, and I'm so excitedddd! Transfers are on Friday so I'll let you all know what happens!

Spiritual thought
God is so aware of each and every one of us. I truly felt His love for me this week in so many different ways, through my studies, through prayer, and through the actions of others. He speaks to us in the way we are best going to hear Him. He knows us and he loves us. Never forget it. 


I love you all with my whole heart, have the best week ever.

Heyyy!!! Im loving life here in the DR! SO MUCH FUN!!!! this week was crazyyy!!!  This week we had exchanges! On Friday morning the Hermana leaders came to our apartment and picked me up and I said bye to my companion for 24 hours! The hermana leaders are a threesome so it was me, Hermana Dominguez, and Hermana Torrez. We headed to their apartment in a different area of Santiago but it was only about 20 minutes from my area. We had lunch (Hermana Torrez can COOK!!!) we did companion study, then headed out for the day! Their area was popey (rich) haha! It was beautiful, flowers everywhere!! But the people weren't as friendly. But we got ice cream from BON for dinner and it was good but not as good as my mom and grandpa's homemade ice cream!! The next day I headed back home and I missed my companion! I love my area so much and my comp so much!  We have been speaking only Spanish in the streets and I think it's been helping me a ton! Hola hola cómo están? Hey hey how's everyone doing? I hope you are all doing so so good and I just want you to all know I miss you so much! This week was so speedy!  And not anything really special happened. It definitely was a little bit of a harder week but with God anythings possible. But I saw a few wonderful miracles. Uur friend Jenny. She told us she wanted to go to church but she only had money to get to church, not to get back home. But she took a step of faith and God worked out the rest of the details like He always does.  We had zone conference and it was so so good. The thing that stuck most with me was becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ, not just a missionary. We also talked about keeping the end in mind as missionaries and our goal as missionaries is to baptize people who are converted to Jesus Christ. It was a really good conference. Week 9

HEY EVERYONE!!!! Hows everyone doing?? On December 12th I got to the DR! It was a long day of travel but we made it! We flew from Mexico to Florida then from Florida to the DR! We got on our second flight to Santiago and the plane was full of natives. I tried to talk to this cute old man sitting next to me but I swear he wasn't speaking Spanish hahaha. That's when I knew I was in for a wild ride.  We got to Santiago and went to President Bretóns house! We spent the night there and in the morning they had a Dominican breakfast ready for us! It was really good! Then we headed to the mission office and had orientation. Then we got to meet our companions! My comp is so awesome! Her name is Hermana Lowry! She's been out in the field for almost 16 months! She's an incredible missionary and I love her!! We headed to our area and I'm in Bella Vista!  The people here are so awesome!  We mostly teach kids and women! The kids absolutely love to hear the gospel!  Since I'm ...
