Week 55
Heyy this week flew
This transfer flew
Time is absolutely flying our here, I can't even believe it.
I don't even know what happened this week, it was so much and so fast, it's hard to keep track!
On Monday we went over to a members house and she made us a Hatian dish called legume.
It was so good and actually tasted. (In my opinion Domincan food doesn't taste so it was fun to try something different) it was spicyyy. And she gave us a gigantic amount.
We left and both of our stomaches started to expand and we looked pregnant for about 2 days. It was a horrible experience and I can't even look at legume without feeling sick but it was fun hahaha
On Tuesday we had a text from the hermana leaders and they wanted to do an exchange. So Wednesday morning at 10 we swapped and I headed over to Franboyanes with Hermana Monson. She has a lot of time in the mission so it was so fun to learn from her. It was also so good to get out of my area for a day and see a different part of the country. I have been here for 4 months without leaving my area, so it was great to see something new!
Our day in Flamboyanes was crazy. Almost all of our lessons fell through so that left us walking in the streets for 7 hours, but the Lord put so so so many people in our path and we found 8 new people that day! It was so fun to learn about diligence and staying positive from Hermana Monson.
They share a house with other hermanas so we didn't end up going to bed until 12 because you get chatting but it was so much fun!!
Everyone is decorating their houses for Christmas. We passed by a member this week and it was perfect timing because I was able to decorate a Christmas tree. SO MUCH FUN!!!
We had a new part member family move into our ward and they got in an accident a few months back and they are only in their 30s. The wife is in a wheel chair and the husband just had a hip replacement. We were able to help them move into their new home. We got to their house and the wife wasn't there but her husband was and he is not a member, but after we helped them move we was in tears full of gratitude and explained how he grew up living a life full of drinking and drugs but ever since the missionaries have started to visit his house with him, his wife, and his kids, he has never felt so much peace and love. It was incredible and the spirit was so strong.
On Saturday night I really just didn't want to get into the cold shower and wash my hair so Hermana Cox grabbed a bucket and made a homemade salon for me and washed my hair. It was incredible and I love her so much. When she gets back, everyone hit her up for a scalp massage and hair cleaning.
After teaching english class on Friday we all got into a deep conversation. THE GOSPEL IS SO COOL!
Study your scriptures everyone!!!
Transfers are this week! I'll let you all know what happens! I'm so sad because I'm most likely leaving. I've grown to absolutely love this area and the people, it's going to be a hard good by but I'm excited to see what the future holds!!
spiritual
I was pondering about God. How the scriptures don't really talk about Him very much.
It came to my realisation that Christ is the intercept to get to the Father. To get to know the Father is to come to know His Son Jesus Christ. To know God, study Christ. His life. His words. His miracles. His teachings. His mercy. His atonement. And you will come to know your Heavenly Father.
John 14: 6
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me"
Have a great weeeeek! Write something down everyday that you are grateful for and remember to put God first because He always puts you first <3
