Week 58
heyyy! klk a todos?
i love you all SO much, my heart can't even express it. i hope you are all enjoying this amazing Christmas season.
This was an interesting week full of learning and full of growth and patience.
Our downstairs neighbors have a chicken, so that's fun. He almost walks into our apartment everyday. But the solution is simple, you just have to chase him back down the stairs.
I was deadly sick this week but hey we still worked our booties off and hit our goals.
My comp was also run over by a literal motorcycle while crossing the street, so she's got a big ole burn on her leg. Let's just say, it was a week. but still a week full of success.
I went running one day for exercise this week. oh. my. gosh. i miss it
the fresh air, the freedom, the runners high.
it was incredible.
I love fasting as a missionary. You see so many miracles.
We had 2 people to show up to church.
It was a miracle.
We have been visiting this inactive member. She hasn't been to church for 6 months. We are teaching her nephew and during our lesson with him this week we asked her to share her testimony with him. We then invited them to church and she was like "we will see"
But on Sunday, while the bishop was giving announcements, her and her boyfriend walked into the chapel. YES!
So that was the most incredible thing ever.
Our friend Kirsi also came. She's my best friend and about 60 years old. She said she really liked it! We invited her last night to be baptized but she said she wants to learn more. Keep her in your prayers!! But ay mi madre i complemented her earrings after sacrament meeting and she full on just took them off and gave them to me. I was like "no no don't worry about it" and she shoved them in my hands. She's just so cute I love her. Keep her in your prayers.
President allowed us to watch the Christmas devotional last night.
aw it was so beautiful
The second speaker said something like "what a better time to testify of the Savior"
What an incredible time to be a missionary. I get to testify about him all day everyday with everyone! I'm so grateful to be here even though it is very different and I don't get to be with my family, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity to testify of the One who gave us the greatest gift.
spiritual
I've been studying about becoming a true disciple of Jesus Christ. I came across this quote by President Henry B Eyring
"So, the great test of life is to see whether we will hearken to and obey God’s commands in the midst of the storms of life. It is not to endure storms, but to choose the right while they rage."
I loved this this much. Life is so hard. We are always passing through something. But that's what life is. We were sent here to learn and grow. Trials make us stretch and stretching leads to growth!
When we CHOOSE to choose the right while enduring our trials we are becoming more and more like Christ. In Luke 22: 42- 43 Christ submitted to the will of the Father. But I especially love verse 43 where it says an angel appeared unto Him and strengthened Him.
I know as we endure our trials with faith and choose to choose the right, we will be strengthened by angels just as Christ was and as we submit to Gods will He will ease the burdens off our back.
I love you all! Have a great week and enjoy the snow! Send me a message and remember to put God first!
