Week 64
what a CRAZY week
oh my goodness
first things first
My favorite person ever, Jesús Augustin Ramirez Ortiz was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Saturday and was confirmed Sunday.
Tman CHANGED my life.
He is the greated example of faith and I know without a doubt I was meant to meet this man.
People say missionaries change investigators lives but Jesús changed mine.
I'm not even sure how to explain Saturday. It was a crazy day. Baptism days are always crazy. Things always always, always go wrong. His baptism was quite literally a... disaster. He showed up, a little bit off. He is always SO bright and happy, bishop was 30 minutes late, the 2 speakers and the opening prayer forgot his name and it was all just super duper rushed. After the baptism Jesús immediately left and something was super off. We prayed. Later that night we got home and called him. We asked him how he felt, what he was thinking and he said "it was marvelous"
Never in 100 years did I think that he was going to say that.
Everything went wrong for us but God made it perfect for him.
He showed up to his confirmation on Sunday. After he recieved the Holy Ghost and came off the stand, I have never seen anyone smiling so big. All the members were so welcoming and loving.
BEST DAY EVER!
One more thing about Jesús. He has a farmacia and he's always sending us videos and pictures of his cows and goats. Should I have him name one after me? Haha
We had zone conference!
Oh my goodness it was incredible!!
We talked about baptism and how we should always be ready to invite anyone to be baptized. How we should always be thinking with the end in mind.
We also talked about putting Christ in the middle of our lives and becoming true disciples of Him. It was so so so good
Our gas went out for 4 days. We haven't been able to cook. Shout out to my mom and the waffle maker she sent me for Christmas, it's been saving our lives the past few days.
We went exploring one day and hiked a literal mountain. I'm going to get home having the most giant calves ever!
We left with out recent convert this week. She wanted to practice her English. So after we got through the basic stuff like colors, names, how to introduce yourself, then we decided to have fun. We taught her some slang. We taught her how to hype up her best friend "pop off" "slay queen" and as we passed a random lady in the street and she said "pop off queen" it was probably the funniest thing I have experienced my entire life.
Our friend Innocia is going to be baptized this weekend! She is so so amazing and literally the cutest person I have ever met. Everyone keep her in your prayers throughout this week!
We got a social media reference. He lived an hour and 15 minutes walking to his house. But we decided to go and explore the area on our way, because we have never been over there. We got to the references door and he didn't answer so we called him and he cancelled on us. We were a little bummed but we realised God had other plans. We decided to explore this area and find some new people. We found 13 awesome people!
God cancelled our plans so we could find more of His children. I love being an instrument in his hands. It's so cool.
One of the people we found over there, his name is Jose Luis. This area was very, very rich but we rang a doorbell and a man picked up and we introduced ourselves hoping he would open up the gate to come talk to us. All the sudden the gate slides open. And behind it is a mansion. One of the biggest houses I have seen in my entire life, with a pool! I was tempted to jump in haha. But we shared such an amazing lesson with him about how he is a child of God. And he happily accepted a return date. Keep him in your prayers!
Spiritual thought
Alma 7: 13 Alma 34: 8 Alma 11:40
In many scriptures prophets teach us that Christ died for our transgressions. But we can repent through Him of our sins.
There is a difference between a transgression and a sin. A transgression is when you do something contrary to Gods commandments without a knowledge that is it wrong. A sin is willingly rebelling against God.
Christ died for us. Through His atonement He wipes away all our transgressions and on terms of repentance He will forgive our sins.
Romans 5: 21
"That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord."
Repentance is power and through it we can have access to Christs power. Jesus is power.
I hope you all have a great week and be careful in the snow! I love you all and I would love to hear from you, send me an email!
Remember to put God first!
Hablamos!!
