Week 65
Long time no see! How's everyone doing??
This week flew by, so so fast and we did so so much
The work is picking up over here.
We had the baptism of Innocia. It was a perfect baptism, believe it or not. She wanted it to be at 10am. But knowing Dominicans it would start at 11. But everyone was there at 9:55 waiting for Innocia to walk in and she pulled in right at 10. That's a miracle. It was a beautiful service full of the spirit.
Our friend Kirsy, she has come to church 3 times and she told us that she knows it's the true church. We have invited her to be baptised multiple times, but everytime she shuts down the idea and changes the topic. We invited her this week and it was different. Usually she shuts us down but she actually asked "where do you guys do baptisms" it sounds silly and little but it was a big miracle and a big step for her!
On Saturday we invited her to church and she said that she was scared to be in the streets. We were very confused because church is at 9am when everyone is sleeping. But we felt prompted to promise her blessings that God would protect her. On Sunday morning we walk into the chapel and Kirsy was sitting there listening to the prelude music. God provides!
I know Hermana Frizzell and I were meant to be comps because we both have a cocacola sin azucar addiction (coke zero). This week we both were craving a cocacola and found the first colmado we could that had them. The worker in the colmado was the coolest man ever and was so intrigued in the Book of Mormon! Such an inspired choice to put us together so we could find this awesome man through our cocacola need.
Our baptism dates, Wanda and Samira are SO cool. We went and taught them on Tuesday and left them with Mosiah 18 to read. We went back on Friday and the first thing they did was open up the Book of Mormon and it was all marked up. They marked everything that they liked. It was so beautiful to see their hunger to learn.
Jesus who was baptised last week shared with us his conversion story and wow. He has changed my perspective and my life. He's always sending us pictures of his cows too haha I love it. Keep him in your prayers

Alma 36: 16-21
And now, for three days and for three nights was I racked, even with the pains of a damned soul. And it came to pass that as I was thus racked with torment, while I was harrowed up by the memory of my many sins, behold, I remembered also to have heard my father prophesy unto the people concerning the coming of one Jesus Christ, a Son of God, to atone for the sins of the world. Now, as my mind caught hold upon this thought, I cried within my heart: O Jesus, thou Son of God, have mercy on me, who am in the gall of bitterness, and am encircled about by the everlasting chains of death. And now, behold, when I thought this, I could remember my pains no more; yea, I was harrowed up by the memory of my sins no more. And oh, what joy, and what marvelous light I did behold; yea, my soul was filled with joy as exceeding as was my pain! Yea, I say unto you, my son, that there could be nothing so exquisite and so bitter as were my pains. Yea, and again I say unto you, my son, that on the other hand, there can be nothing so exquisite and sweet as was my joy.
This is quite a story. And I hope you can go back and read all of Alma 36 because it is incredible. As Alma explains in verse 12-14 he had committed many sins and felt unworthy to face God. He felt so far and he was racked with so much guilt and so much burden. He was scared. Until he remembered this Christ who would come to atone for the sins of the world. When his mind caught hold of Jesus, he was healed, he was cleansed, and he was whole. Jesus made his pains into joy and he changed through Jesus. I especially love verse 21.
"Yea, I say unto you, my son, that there could be nothing so exquisite and so bitter as were my pains. Yea, and again I say unto you, my son, that on the other hand, there can be nothing so exquisite and sweet as was my joy."
Turning to Christ, becoming perfected in him through repentance brings us true exquisite and sweet joy.
Catch hold on the thought of Jesus because he is the only one who can truly bring us lasting happiness.
Have a great week! I love you all and I am praying for you! Send me an email! And remember to put God first <3
