Week 69

Heyyy everyone! How's it going? I hope you are all doing so great and had the best Valentine's Day ever!
We had such a fun Valentine's Day, and I'm so grateful for my comps and the love they shared with me.

So I actually had my entire email written out and ready to send, and it deleted. Bummer. Anyways this week was great and so much fun, full of joy and laughter.

So little miracle story. Ever since I got transferred to this area, I had not been able to find my ruler I always use to mark in my scriptures. I found a scripture I loved and wanted to mark it. So I prayed, and about 3 seconds later, I picked up my scriptures, and it was sitting underneath them. I had picked up my scriptures at least 50 times since getting to this new area, and the ruler was never there. This is just a little reminder that God always listens to and answers our prayers.

I'm learning a little bit of Creole because Hermana Guillaume is from Haiti. This week, during a lesson, our friend asked a question on how we do baptism, and I completely understood, and I was able to answer her question. It was crazy. I know the gift of tongues is real because I do not know Creole, haha.

We taught Hermana Guillaume a bad word. A fake, bad english word. "Wikishi" she thinks it's funny to use it. So she is always calling us wikishis, hahaha

Djelie (pronounced jelly) was baptized on Saturday and confirmed on Sunday.
He's an angel. And my dabbing best friend. His baptism was so special, and the members were super supportive.
I wish you could have all been there to experience his baptism, so I invite you to all imagine Djelie, an 8 year old boy, dancing into the baptism font. Because that is exactly what he did. He was so excited to make his first promise with his Heavenly Father. He reminds me how pure and sweet the doctrine is.
The closing song at his baptism was, "I am a child of God." As we were singing, I watched Djelie, and he knew every word and was singing his heart out. It was so uplifting.
We are all children of a loving Heavenly Father. Djelie, you, me. We all have a Heavenly Father who is cheering us on every step of the way. Never forget it!

We are also teaching Djelies mom, Djonia. She wants to be baptised! Keep her in your prayers and pray to give her strength and comfort with this decision. Let's make their family eternal!

Also Manuel! From Jarabacoa. We baptized him before I left and he wasn't able to go to church the following Sunday and recieve the gift of the holy ghost. But he was able to go on Sunday and I am so so happy for him.

Spiritual thought
I have been studying about the preisthood. We are so blessed to have God's power on the earth. I am so incredibly blessed, and I am so grateful I had a preisthood holder in my home growing up.
D&C 121: 36, 45
The preisthood is the power that connects us to heaven. When men hold the preisthood, they have a special connection they can use to bless all of us.
I love these two verses. It is truly a blessing from God that he allows worthy men to hold his power. I was thinking about all the blessings I have received throughout my life from the preisthood. We can all be blessed in many different ways. But today, I am most grateful for eternal families. The sacrament. And the power to make covenants.
I invite you all to ponder on the blessing you have, thanks to preisthood, thanks to our Heavenly Fathers love. Make a list and then thank your Heavenly Father.

I love you all and intense amount, and I'm excited to see you all in 2 months!
Have such a great week, and remember to put God first and share the gospel!
