Week 72

klk a todos
i love you all SO much
I know I say this everytime, but only because it's true. This week flew by and was full of some crazyyyy experiences and full of God's hand in the work in every moment.

where do i even start

Let's start on Monday, after pday.
It was my second birthday in the field, it was such a great day, but a second birthday without my mom's birthday cake was a little sad.
I was feeling a little homesick.
But God didn't let me feel like that for long. We went to our first appointment at 6:30. Our appointment was with the boy gang. We were walking down the street, approaching their house, and the boys come running down the street with party blower horns and happy birthday glasses screaming at me and eventually gave me a pile of hugs. I've never felt so loved. But the love doesn't end there.
We start our lesson singing "I am a child of God" and shared a quick little message. The boy gang is so so smart and have such a desire to learn, they come prepared to our lessons full of questions. I love them (don't be suprised if I come home with a few little boys hiding in my suitcases)
After our lessons Hermana María came out holding an entire birthday cake. I have never felt so much love. I cried.
It was the most special birthday party ever.
As we left the party we griddied together down the road. So much love for them.

On Wednesday night about 3am I started to small gas. It got strong. We all went out into the kitchen and we looked out our window and there were men surrounding a gas tank talking about how a mango fell on a tank and it made it leak. super random

We were in a lesson with our wonderful friends Wilbens and Hervè and all the sudden this crazy man came up to my face and started screaming about an inch away from me. lol I also started crying. But he wasn't trying to be mean he was just mentally crazy so pray for him.

On Friday morning I learned that the spirit is always right. We met the cutest 14 year old boy on Wednesday morning and went back to teach him on Friday morning. We get to his work and his 4 best friends were there. We started talking with them and I heard "invite them to be baptized" I felt a little crazy saying it outloud but I told my comps the thought that just came to my mind. We decided to follow that prompting and send it.
We taught the importance of baptism. And invited them to follow their Savior Jesus. All 5 of them accepted a baptism date.
They are all from Haiti, all 14 and 15 years old and live alone. The only thing they have is Jesus and all they want to do with their whole heart is follow Him.
Pray for Frany, Frendy, Weech,y Wisly and Jean
They need a little extra help getting to church on Sunday, but with extra prayers, it'll happen!

Have you ever tried hatian donuts? You need to.

We were in a lesson and the neighbor started playing a playlist of post malone, boy was it hard to focus hahaha. It threw me off guard to hear anything besides Rigatoni or Bachata.

We had a fast walk challenge home one night. I could win the fast walking Olympics.

We had stake conference this week, since I've served in this zone I got to see alllll of my besties from when I served in Villa Olga. My heart was so full!!!!

The best part of my week, Sebastian.
He is so perfect, oh my goodness. We passed by his house and he begged us to teach him about temples. His mom passed away a few years ago and he said "I want to know how I can save my mom" when we taught him temples he was glowing. His smile was bigger than anything I've ever seen, he found so much relief to know he can save his mom.
We sang I am a Child of God, and Families can be Together Forever and I can't even explain the spirit that filled the room.
I'm so grateful God chose me to be a part of his conversion story. I wish you could all meet him.
We are all children of loving heavenly parents and thanks to this wonderful gospel we can be sealed forever with our families.
It is a such a divine and necessary truth that we are SO lucky to have. Never forget it <3

Spiritual thought
Ether 12: 27
This scripture is my new fav and talks all about giving our weaknesses to Christ so he can make them our strengths. We need to have faith and be humble to recognize our weaknesses.
Recognition -> leads to change.
As we pray to know what God expects from us, as we align our will with God's, He will change us and turn our weakness into our biggest strength, bigger strengths than we could have ever imagined. and we can become new beings in Christ and become perfected in Him.
We need to ask ourselves "what do I need to change?" "How can I improve?"
As we do this the Lord will see we are willing and He will multiple our efforts on high and I know he will perfect us through Christ.
