Week 74

We had transfers. Since we are a trio we were 100% sure we were getting split up. 
Let me paint you a picture of how Wednesday night went (transfer news night) we moved all 5 of our matresses into the main room. We were sitting on our beds waiting for transfer news. The other hermanas got their news. My companions and I were still waiting for ours. Hermana Guillaumes came, but she waited to read hers until everyone in the companionship got it. Then we all read it silently together. I was the last one to see the news. I looked at my comps and they were both smiling. Once we found out we were staying together we jumped onto Guillaumes bed hugging and smiling. 
I'm so excited to work the next 4 weeks of my mission with them. Such a blessing that God is keeping us together! 


I'm going to try to keep this short because my emails somehow always turn into a novel but I want to share some miracles!!


We saw SUCH a huge miracle with Sebastian!!! 
Things are going slow but good. We were teaching Sebastian and the rest of the boy gang and right as we were ending we heard his Aunt Ana yell to him. We prayed and left and caught her right as she was heading into her house, it was such a miracle because she gets home at almost 10pm every night but she got home at 8! She invited us in and we were able to share a message and pray with them both. 
She told us she has seen many changes in Sebastian and she was talking to his dad and told him that Sebastian is almost a Mormon. She explained to us that she wants Sebastians dad to go to his baptism and he will be in town during semana santa (holy week) SO we are seeing MIRACLES.
Prayers are working. Keep praying for him. 


We asked a lady to share an experience that she has had with prayer and how she has seen God answer her prayers. 
She shared how her grandson who lives with her struggles with seizures and one night he was having one. She got on her knees to know what to do and fell asleep during her prayer. In a dream she learned she needed to go to her fridge and get a potatoe, cut it and then put it on her grandsons legs, and he would be healed. So that is exactly what she did, and he stopped seizing. Kind of and interesting and superrrr random experience haha


Our friends pulled hard this Sunday!!! 
We had so so many of our progressing friends come!! 
Our friend Fredly, he's a 17 year old boy, lives in this country alone, and has close to nothing. But he walked over 45 minutes to make it to church this Sunday! He has a date for April 5, keep him in your prayers, he needs them!


Spiritual thought 
I came across the scripture 2 Nephi 9: 28-29 
" O that cunning plan of the evil one! O the vainness, and the frailties, and the foolishness of men! When they are learned they think they are wise, and they hearken not unto the counsel of God, for they set it aside, supposing they know of themselves, wherefore, their wisdom is foolishness and it profiteth them not. And they shall perish.  But to be learned is good if they hearken unto the counsels of God."


As I was studying I was thinking about how many times we take more council from the world, our favorite celebrities, TV shows, work colleagues, etc. than we do from God. 
God is all knowing and as we hearken unto His voice we will be way better off than hearkening to the voices of the world. 
Our personal intellect is not the only way to have knowledge, the greatest knowledge we can gain is through the Holy Ghost teaching us. To learn from His Spirit, we have to be worthy, seeking after it, and prepare to hear Him. 
I invite you all to listen to God's precepts over the precepts of the world. It will be the greatest gift. 
"If you have felt the influence of the Holy Ghost today, you may take it as a sweet evidence that the Atonement is working in your life." - president Henry B Eyring
The greatest gift given to us is the atonement of Christ and being able to feel His purifying power working within us, is the greatest gift of all that He has given to us through His Spirit.

Heyyy!!! Im loving life here in the DR! SO MUCH FUN!!!! this week was crazyyy!!!  This week we had exchanges! On Friday morning the Hermana leaders came to our apartment and picked me up and I said bye to my companion for 24 hours! The hermana leaders are a threesome so it was me, Hermana Dominguez, and Hermana Torrez. We headed to their apartment in a different area of Santiago but it was only about 20 minutes from my area. We had lunch (Hermana Torrez can COOK!!!) we did companion study, then headed out for the day! Their area was popey (rich) haha! It was beautiful, flowers everywhere!! But the people weren't as friendly. But we got ice cream from BON for dinner and it was good but not as good as my mom and grandpa's homemade ice cream!! The next day I headed back home and I missed my companion! I love my area so much and my comp so much!  We have been speaking only Spanish in the streets and I think it's been helping me a ton! Week 46

Hola hola cómo están? Hey hey how's everyone doing? I hope you are all doing so so good and I just want you to all know I miss you so much! This week was so speedy!  And not anything really special happened. It definitely was a little bit of a harder week but with God anythings possible. But I saw a few wonderful miracles. Uur friend Jenny. She told us she wanted to go to church but she only had money to get to church, not to get back home. But she took a step of faith and God worked out the rest of the details like He always does.  We had zone conference and it was so so good. The thing that stuck most with me was becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ, not just a missionary. We also talked about keeping the end in mind as missionaries and our goal as missionaries is to baptize people who are converted to Jesus Christ. It was a really good conference. Week 9

HEY EVERYONE!!!! Hows everyone doing?? On December 12th I got to the DR! It was a long day of travel but we made it! We flew from Mexico to Florida then from Florida to the DR! We got on our second flight to Santiago and the plane was full of natives. I tried to talk to this cute old man sitting next to me but I swear he wasn't speaking Spanish hahaha. That's when I knew I was in for a wild ride.  We got to Santiago and went to President Bretóns house! We spent the night there and in the morning they had a Dominican breakfast ready for us! It was really good! Then we headed to the mission office and had orientation. Then we got to meet our companions! My comp is so awesome! Her name is Hermana Lowry! She's been out in the field for almost 16 months! She's an incredible missionary and I love her!! We headed to our area and I'm in Bella Vista!  The people here are so awesome!  We mostly teach kids and women! The kids absolutely love to hear the gospel!  Since I'm ...
