Week 14

The week somehow was the longest week of my life but so fast???  We did a ton of walking this week! I think on Saturday we walked almost 7 miles. But it was a great week! We taught lots of lessons, and it definitely paid off! We had 20 of our friends come to church and 9 recent converts! When I saw each of them walk in the chapel my heart was so full of joy!!!!  On Tuesday we had family home evening with Pedro Peña and his family! They are the BEST family ever and it was so fun! They fed us yaroa (it's like nachos kinda but fries with chicken and cheese) and then we watched a video about the three nephites, I think?? I'm not 100% sure because it was in spanish hahaha!!!  We had a family history ward activity on Thursday, and our recent convert friend, Roodlee came! It was so great!!!  Roodlee has started bringing his friends to church every week and they all want to be baptized, so we started to teach them and they are sooo smart and I love them with my whole heart!!...

It's transfers on Tuesday and I get to stay in Bella Vista with all my friends and WITH HERMANA LOWRY WAHOOOO!!!!! so so so excited that she gets to finish my training!!! This week, our water and power wasn't working very well hahaha. It was on and off. So I had to take a bucket shower a few days this week and that was new haha!  Roodlee was baptized on Thursday!!!:))) Something I love about Roodlee He's a 14 year old boy, and his birthday was last Saturday, he messaged us and told us he wished his birthday was on Sunday, because Sunday is the best day, because it's the Lord's day.  Another cute thing he told us... He said, not even basketball makes me as happy as God does!!! SO CUTE!!!! and this kid LOVES basketball, but he loves God more and I love that about him.  He has such a strong testimony and such a strong love for God, HE'S THE BEST!!! We had interviews with Presidente Bretón on Friday! They went so good and I l...

This week, my comp and I got the gripe. We had fevers so we weren't allowed to go out and teach our friends:,( but we were able to do lots of phone lessons, so that was good!!!! So this week went by REALLY slow since we were in our apartment most of the time.  By Friday I was feeling back to normal, but my poor comp, she was still feeling horrible, but we went out and taught anyways. We went and taught THE CUTEST family:))) Kelvin, Angela, and Emma! They are the best!!!! After our lesson with them, we were heading home, and it's about a 30 minute walk, and it started POURING! and don't get me wrong I LOVE the rain, buttt not so much when you are walking on dirt roads. But Kelvin and Angela insisted on driving us home! That was a blessing and I love them with my whole heart!!!  Then it was SATURDAYYY, ROSAS BAPTISM!!!!!! Everything was so perfect!!! We had her baptism at 6, and before her baptism we were out teaching our friends, and we headed over to the church at around 5:...

Hola!!!  Another week as a missionary! What is this, week 11? CRAZY!!!! I feel like the Spanish is slowly coming, but its coming! I understand so much about what we are talking to people about!  This week I went to Santo Domingo to do my residency, so it was like a 3 hour bus ride! It was a fun road trip! But my favorite part was driving through this country, it is SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! It was a little bit foggy that morning and when we the sun started to rise it was foggy and we were surrounded by green mountains and trees. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my whole life.  OLIVER WAS BAPTIZED!!! WAHOOOO I can't even explain how much I love Oliver! He's the cutest little boy EVER! It's a miracle that he got baptized. His mom, she lives in a different part of the Dominican Republic, and Oliver lives with his Grandparents. But we had to get permission from his mom to be baptized. The missionaries have asked her for around 3 months if he could be baptize...

Heyyy!!! Im loving life here in the DR! SO MUCH FUN!!!! this week was crazyyy!!!  This week we had exchanges! On Friday morning the Hermana leaders came to our apartment and picked me up and I said bye to my companion for 24 hours! The hermana leaders are a threesome so it was me, Hermana Dominguez, and Hermana Torrez. We headed to their apartment in a different area of Santiago but it was only about 20 minutes from my area. We had lunch (Hermana Torrez can COOK!!!) we did companion study, then headed out for the day! Their area was popey (rich) haha! It was beautiful, flowers everywhere!! But the people weren't as friendly. But we got ice cream from BON for dinner and it was good but not as good as my mom and grandpa's homemade ice cream!! The next day I headed back home and I missed my companion! I love my area so much and my comp so much!  We have been speaking only Spanish in the streets and I think it's been helping me a ton! Shoutout to Boomer for the great idea!! FEL...
